What if international insurance contracts still forget women's health?

Motherhood is a crucial step. In some countries, childbirth can cost tens of thousands of euros, with varying medical standards and significant out-of-pocket expenses.

Anticipating is therefore vital!

But women's health is not limited to motherhood, a subject in its own right that we will explore in greater depth in a future article.

It also includes:

✔️ Fertility and medically assisted procreation : what solutions are available abroad? What monitoring, what cost, what remaining charge?

✔️ Egg freezing : taken care of or forgotten?

✔️ Genetic mutations (BRCA/HBOC) and prevention choices (surgery, hormonal treatments).

✔️ Menopause and substitution therapies, which are still too lacking in guarantees.

✔️ Chronic or serious pathologies , affecting women more specifically, before or after the age of 50.

👉 These needs are rarely included in contracts. Yet, they can determine a life plan, well-being, and security for an entire family during international mobility.

💠 Foresight: an essential safety net

Foresight is not just about numbers. It raises a fundamental question:

➡️ What happens if I can no longer work, or if I die abroad?

  • What coverage in the event of disability?

  • What guarantees are there for the accompanying spouse and children?

  • How is replacement income provided far from the country of origin?

  • Are the designated beneficiaries in the event of death up to date and valid?

⚠️ Without clear answers, these gray areas expose families to major financial and legal insecurity.

💠 Retirement: rights that evaporate too quickly

  • Are my quarters validated abroad?

  • Does my accompanying spouse pay contributions, or do they lose several years of rights?

  • What steps should you take to avoid a career “gap”?

⏳ These questions often appear too late… when you return.

💠 Heritage: thinking about protection and transmission

  • How to legally and financially protect your spouse in the event of death?

  • What inheritance rules apply? (Marriage in France, marriage abroad, etc.)

  • How to avoid double taxation of assets?

🔎 These aspects, still too rarely anticipated, are nevertheless essential to secure the future of a family.

💡 When living abroad, planning for women's health, insurance, retirement and assets means protecting more than just an individual: it means protecting an entire family.

International mobility should not be a risky adventure, but an enriching, inclusive and secure life project.

✨ And you, have you already identified these gray areas in your international insurance contracts?
